In partnership with DTE, 51黑料爆料网历史事件 offers a seven-week tree trimming program. The program is designed to provide specific training at different intervals with each of the partnering organizations. The 51黑料爆料网历史事件 team is responsible for recruitment, selection, work readiness training, supportive services, and overall coordination of the tree trim program.聽 To learn more click here: DTE Tree Trim Academy聽

Enrollment for Tree Trim Academy will resume in Spring of 2025.聽

Week One

Work Readiness at 51黑料爆料网历史事件:

Students are immersed into the 51黑料爆料网历史事件 5A’s (attendance, attitude, academics, appearance, and accountability), working with diverse populations, customer service, conflict resolution, financial literacy, and computer enhancement.聽

Week Two, Three, Four

Truck Driving School:

Students are trained for Temporary Instruction Permit (TIP). This permit is required for students to drive a truck with a licensed truck driver/trainer.聽

Students are prepared and tested for the Commercial Driver鈥檚 License (CDL -B). Includes聽testing by a state examiner.

Weeks Five, Six, Seven

On-site at DTE鈥檚 Detroit Tree Trimming Academy:聽

Training includes, physical fitness, personal protective equipment, tying knots, climbing, introduction to tree trimming.聽

Information Technology

Next

This 15-week training pathway prepares students for entry-level to middle-skilled Information Technology positions. Training focuses on Customer Service, Financial Literacy, Technical Support, Server Technology Fundamentals and Programming Essentials in Python.

 

Core 1 and Core 2:

This 5 – 15 week, 450-hour course is designed to provide technical skills necessary to become a CompTIA A+ certified IT professional. Beginning with an introduction to computer basics, this course will take students through the more complex issues involved in configuring, troubleshooting, and supporting software, operating systems, workstations, laptops, and mobile devices. An introduction to networks and security is included in the training as well as practical real-world type projects to strengthen the soft skills and customer service skills required to work in the IT field. Financial Literacy training is also included in this module. Students are prepared for industry certifications including the CompTIA A+, Certified Business Professional: Customer Service, PCEP: Python Certified Entry-Level Programmer

The career placement focus areas for these modules include Help Desk Technicians, Service Desk Analysts, Desktop Support Technicians, Computer Support Specialists, Technical Support Specialists. Entry-level wages begin at $16-$19 hourly.

Server Tech Fundamentals:

This 5-week, 150-hour course is designed to deliver the technical skills necessary to con铿乬ure or support Windows computers, devices, users, and associated network and security resources on enterprise server-based and cloud-based environments. This path dives into the skills needed to deploy Windows, manage devices and data; con铿乬ure connectivity; and maintain Windows operating systems as part of a Microsoft 365 setting. Students are prepared for industry certifications including the Microsoft 365 Certi铿乪d: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate. The career placement focus areas for this module include Windows Desktop Administrator, Junior System Administrator, Desktop Technician. Entry-level wages begin at $19-$20 hourly.

Programming Essentials in Python:

This 5-week/150-hour, Cisco Networking Academy course, covers all the basics of programming in Python, as well as general computer programming concepts and techniques. Additionally, the course familiarizes the student with the object-oriented approach providing a pragmatic and hands-on introduction to the Python programming language, with a focus on practical applications and projects, rather than theoretical topics. Students will design and build software to solve problems from various disciplines each week using Python. As the course progresses, students will learn to work with packages, data structures, object-oriented programming, and tools for data science and cybersecurity. This course prepares student for an industry recognized programming certification. Students are prepared for industry certifications the PCEP: Python Certified Entry-Level Programmer. The career placement focus areas for this module include Junior Python Developer, Software Developer. Entry-level wages begin at $28.50 hourly or $58,640 annually.

Construction Pre-Apprenticeship

This 5-week, 120-hour program provides work readiness training in Construction, preparing students for further occupation-specific training as carpenters or millwrights. Participants in this program will also have the opportunity to participate in advanced training and apprenticeships. Average wage: $21+ per hour.

logistics and transportation

Next

This 10-week course prepares students to become successful CDL (Commercial Driver鈥檚 License) truck drivers and owner/operators.

Module 1:

The first section is the 4-week CDL (Commercial Driver鈥檚 License) work readiness portion during which students will be exposed daily to; The 5 A鈥檚 (attendance, attitude, academics, appearance, and accountability), daily affirmations, enrichment/introduction to remote learning and computer literacy, researching the truck driving industry, resume preparation, interview practice, financial literacy, and other Work Readiness tools. Additionally, students will prepare for the IBTA (International Business Training Association) Customer Service Examination and be awarded an internationally recognized Certificate of Completion upon receiving a qualifying score.

Module 2:

The second section of the 10-week course is devoted to the initial entrepreneurial training needed to become a successful owner/operator including managerial accounting and supply chain management. Students will have the opportunity to earn an international certification in Business Communication. Students will develop a business plan and have Q&A sessions with business owners.

INDUSTRIAL MANUFACTURING

This 15-week, 300-hour course offers training in manufacturing readiness, hi-lo, CNC (computer numerical control) operations, industrial robotics and welding, preparing students for middle-skilled to multi-middle-skilled manufacturing positions.

Manufacturing Readiness/Hi-Lo:

This 2-week (40 hrs.) industrial manufacturing readiness program is designed to deliver foundational curriculum for entry-level manufacturing positions. Topics include industrial safety, hi-lo operations, and OSHA (occupational safety and health administration) training. Credentials to Earn: 51黑料爆料网历史事件 Issued Forklift Certification. Average wage: $16.50+ per hour.

CNC Operations:

This 7-week (140 hrs.) industrial manufacturing training program is designed to deliver foundational curriculum for middle-skilled manufacturing positions. Topics covered include intro to CNC machining lathes/mills, shop math, and blueprint reading. Credentials to Earn: Certified Business Professional: Customer Service, OSHA 10, NIMS鈥揅NC Operations Lathe Level 1, NIMS-CNC Operations Mills Level 1, NIMS Material Measurement & Safety. Placement focus: manufacturing employment, apprenticeship opportunities, CNC operator, quality inspection, machine operator. Average wage: $18+ per hour.

Industrial Robotics and Welding:

6-weeks (120 hours) Robotics course covers task to prepare an operator, or technician to set-up program and troubleshoot industrial robot operations. Course comprises FANUC company e-learn curriculum and hands-on training. Learners may earn FANUC handling tools operations and programming certification. introduction to welding, this course covers flux-core arc welding, emphasizing welding fundamentals, safe practice, weld inspection and equipment. Credentials to Earn: Fanuc Robotics-Handling Tool; Training consists of hand-on training and simulation, lectures and labs preparing learners for entry level welding position starting at $18-20 hourly.

Industrial Manufacturing Pre-Apprenticeship:

This 11-week pre-apprenticeship provides manufacturing technicians with the knowledge and competencies needed in the advanced manufacturing environment. Partnership between 51黑料爆料网历史事件 and Macomb Community College to hire and train Industrial Manufacturing Production Technicians. The program provides on-the-job training at no cost to the apprentices, credentials through Macomb Community College, Journey Worker status, and full-time employment with an industry partner. Average wage: $16.50+.

Admissions

In order to apply for one of our Job Training programs, prospective students must:

  • Have a high school diploma or GED for all programs
  • Pass a drug screen and physical (if applicable)
  • Pass an admissions test at required levels for each program. Online testing is conducted at 8:30am & 1:30pm M-TH by appointment only. Call to be assigned a Workforce Development Specialist to assist you with navigating the enrollment process.
